Everyday Dwellings: Update Your Front Door

front door ideas

There are only a few reasons why I would want to move from my high-rise condo. One of the biggest ones is obviously, more space and a backyard for Pork. But the other one that seems trivial, but I really wish I had the option, was a great front door moment. When it comes time for the holidays, I would love to be able to dress up a front entryway with garland and twinkle lights. Or in the summer with bright beautiful flowers. Then there’s the epic fall front doorstep that I would love to just adorn with pastel pumpkins and mums.

Since my front door isn’t seen by anyone but my across the hall neighbor, there’s really nothing I can do. Also, I’m 100% not allowed to do anything to it thanks to HOA rules. Which is fine. It’s also why I spent some time and money last summer revamping my patio at least. So I’ll vicariously live through today’s post featuring a few pretty additions you could add to your front door and entry for a super quick and affordable refresh.

How To Easily Update Your Front Door

These pieces are all super clean lines, modern and pretty darn affordable. Layer your jute woven rug with a patterned one if you have the extra space. Add more planters for extra greenery. Plus, if you’re working with a builder-grade entry light, try swapping it for something more modern or that matches your home. It makes for an instant update. Most of them are under $100 too.

Also, a super simple update you can make in a few seconds is swapping those house numbers for something more modern. Extra points for a cute mailbox post too! One thing that’s on my to do list for my interior doors of my house is to swap the old chrome knobs for clean modern black ones. I love this super sleek black handle for a refresh.

And lastly, why not repaint your front door? Front doors are insanely expensive to replace, but a fresh coat of paint can do wonders. Choose a complementary color to your house color for something interesting. Or go monochromatic in a darker or lighter shade of your house color for a minimalist look. A fresh coat of paint really does wonders for just about anything!

Funny you post this – I have been telling my husband I really want to update our front door area. New light, add a knockers and a mailbox box (even though we don’t need one ha). Love your picks!

It’s the tiniest update that can make a huge difference in my opinion. And super affordable! I was surprised how affordable the outdoor light options were!
