The Best Woven Bags For Summer

woven bags for summer, summer bags

Sometimes I wonder if this trend is only on top of mind for me because I’m a blogger and spend way too much time on Pinterest and scrolling through other blogs. But the woven bag seems to be a big hit in my world. I see it everywhere it feels like and it’s a wonder why this wasn’t a thing years ago! While in Thailand back in January, I remember seeing straw bags, totes and the like everywhere. I 100% regret not buying something local and authentic. So instead I own this basic blogger bitch bag. I did come home though with some baskets and woven trays to hold some things around the house (a post on my favorite travel treasures coming soon by the way). But since I failed miserably at buying a great woven bag in Thailand, I’ve been on the hunt for them now this summer.

I’m sure you’re all familiar with this ever so popular clutch that has been dubbed, the popsicle purse. Hilarious. I have to be honest, I bought this clutch back in December before every single solitary person bought it. I was never good at accepting the fact that everyone has the same bag as me, but a las, I own it, I wear it. It also sits nicely on my buffet that acts as a little decor item when it’s not in use. Since everyone and their mom has this clutch, I’m now on the hunt for something new and fresh and maybe a little sturdier. My Cult Gaia bag has held up to quite a bit of wear and stuffed to the brim with crap, so I’m not saying it isn’t quality, but it sure would be nice if the damn thing felt like it would last a night out on the town without worrying about it.

So today I’m rounding up a few favorite woven bags, from crossbody ones to totes, this will satisfy the blogger in everyone who wants to be on trend this summer.

1. Clare V Alice Sisal Tote

A round bag is another hot trend this season, so adding in the straw and woven element makes this the ultimate bag. I have to be honest, I’m totally contemplating splurging on it, but hoping to find a better one that’s under $100 that looks just like it. I’ll keep you posted when I do find it.

2. Rebecca Minkoff Straw Pom Pom Tote

The bag that can go from beach to date night. I love the black pom poms for a touch of whimsy. Plus, this Rebecca Minkoff bag is on sale and under $100. Totally worth adding to your summer closet!

3. Madewell Lucena Shopper Basket

You may remember this one from my post last week.  I’ve been keeping this baby in my cart over on Madewell in hopes they send me a  coupon so I’ll just buy it already (hasn’t happened yet). But at only $50, it’s the cheapest bag on today’s list and the best way to get the trend for less.

4. Hat Attack Round Handle Bag

At just over $100, this bag is truly the most neutral and versatile piece in this roundup. Wear it to the beach packed with your necessities, but also wear it out and about around town. Without there being pom poms on it, or tassels, you can really wear this all summer long with all the maxi dresses and short shorts your heart desires.

5. Mar Y Sol Ibiza Tote With Tassels

The most colorful and playful bag in today’s feature, this bag will definitely make a statement. Wear with an all white look to let it stand out, or contrast it with royal blue (my favorite with hot pink). And how fun are those tassels? I’m obsessed!

6. Sole Society Woven Bottom Tote

Last but not least, a solid find from Sole society at only $80.  Let’s be honest, I’m a sucker for this one thanks to the navy details on it.

7. Balaio Straw Bag

A total splurge, but had to include this since it’s the featured image here. This Balaio straw bag with the navy tassel is giving me all the heart eyes. If money were no object, this baby would be in my closet.

I HIGHLY recommend the Clare V. Alice bag. I contemplated it for over a year and finally went for it. Haven’t regretted it for a second. The Hat Attack bag on the other hang. I wore it three times and it started to completely fall apart. Would not recommend that bag!
