The Best Affordable Closet Essentials To Buy Today

classic tee and jeans, casual outfit, best Nordstrom Anniversary Sale buys - My Style Vita

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is in full swing and starting Friday you’ll be able to shop if you do not have a Nordstrom credit card. They tend to restock some things so I always recommend checking back to see if your favorites are back in stock.  This sale is like no other sale in that you can buy fall essentials at up to 33% off. I like to stock up on certain basics like these awesome Caslon tees that are under $20. But also some items like sweaters, jeans, Nike socks, updated sportswear and more.

It’s definitely the time to also think about your winter plans. Will you be needing winter boots? They’ve got some great Sperry’s on sale that I wish I bought years ago! Or Hunter rainboots (I got these for my sister since she’s never owned a real pair of rain boots). Here’s my favorites that I always recommend considering to purchase during this sale.

6 Things I Usually Buy At The #NSale

1. Leather Jackets

I’m OBSESSED with leather jackets. It’s basically all I wear come fall. You’ve seen me wear them with jeans and sneakers, to dresses and even skirts. They’re a great essential for your closet. Whether you prefer to go all out on leather, faux leather or suede, there’s a few great options to choose from. Personally loving this faux leather one from BB Dakota.

Was $105, now $69.90

2. Winter Boots

If you live in a cold climate, this is the time to grab the winter essentials you’ll need. I used to have to travel to some cold places for my old day job, so having a pair of these was essential even living in the south. I love these Sperry’s and personally have a similar pair (you’ve seen me style them here with a dress actually!). They’re comfortable and fairly warm.

Was $185, now $110

3. Utility Jackets

Utility jackets are probably one of my most worn jackets right behind my leather one. They make for a great transition piece from summer to fall and winter to spring. Plus, they’re a perfect light layer for summer nights. You’ve seen me style an identical version of this one here and here.

Was $79 now $49.90

4. Sneakers

Do you call them sneakers or running shoes? I say both. For the sale, I almost always pick up a new pair of sneakers every year. For around 60 something dollars, you can get a brand new stylish pair of Adidas or Nikes in fun colors. I just got these Adidas and love them. They’re super lightweight and comfortable. I did an 8.5, and I’m usually an 8 or 8.5 in most shoes.

Was $85, now $63.90

5. Basic Tees

Whether you go with my favorite Caslon tees, or these, basic tees are always essential to stock up on. I grabbed them in white as I’m notorious for destroying my white tees. I can never have too many. And for around $17, why not? I always buy the petite version, they’re not as long as the classic. There’s also these for $12 that come in lots of colors.

Was $25, now $17.90

6. Sweaters & Cardigans

This is the real winner in the sale, the cold weather favorites. Sweaters, cadigans and coats. Nowhere else will you find new styles for fall and winter on sale for sweaters. Grab them while you can!
