Things I can always count on for looking put together and timeless are two things. A great black coat, and classic black heels. But of course, a black heel with a bit of a twist. The heel on these Tamara Mellon Laison pumps are so fun, kind of triangular. Which is so different and fun. After wearing these shoes for some time, I just HAD to share a review on them. Tamara Mellon shoes are a new to me brand that launched a few years ago. Since owning my first pair, I now see why people are obsessed!
Tamara Mellon Shoes Review
A few weeks ago I was invited to an event to get to know the Tamara Mellon shoe brand. I had seen their strappy ‘Frontline’ heels all over Instagram. I heard great things about them too. The comfort was the one thing I kept hearing over and over again. So when I headed into their mobile boutique to check out their latest collection I couldn’t wait to try them on and see for myself. The verdict? Read on.
Tamara Mellon Sizing
I’d say their shoes run fairly true to size. And also not too narrow. When trying on the pumps, that’s always my first concern. I typically size up a bit in a pointed toe shoe. For these, I did an 8.5 and I’m usually an 8 or 8.5. I also own these Flatline sandals and did a regular size 8 and they’re perfect.
Are They Comfortable?
For a 105mm heel, I’d say hell yes they are. They’re easy to walk in and for the height, they don’t become painful very quickly. The toe box is also super comfortable which I find can be hit or miss on a pointed toe pump. Obviously, anytime you have a heel that’s this high, eventually, the balls of your feet will begin to hurt. But that’s inevitable with any shoe if you ask me.
I’ve tried Christian Louboutins and Manolo Blahniks in the past. I found my Louboutins to not be very comfortable at all. Fun fact, the heel of my first and only Louboutins broke within 2 weeks. The Manolo’s I once had (but the sole got destroyed within a handful of wears) were more comfortable. These Tamara Mellon’s fall in between on the comfort level. And guess what? They haven’t fallen apart. They’re super high quality and well made.
It’s quite clear that the price point is there for a reason. These shoes are high quality and oh so gorgeous. Tamara Mellon is the co-founder of Jimmy Choo who is known for quality. The craftsmanship in these shoes is phenomenal and you can just tell when you put them on. Plus, Tamara Mellon also has a Cobbler Concierge who will replace your heel tips, repair minor scratches and any hardware replacements.
The Price Point
The price point on these shoes definitely is a bit higher than I typically would spend. However, I think they’re more reasonably priced than a lot of other designer shoes out there. Starting in the high $300s, yes they’re pricey. But I think if you’re looking to invest in a quality, comfortable and timeless shoe for your wardrobe, skip the high-end designers and check Tamara Mellon out.
