The Perfect Girls Weekend At Acqualina Resort in Miami

A few weeks ago the #BloggersDoTravel gals got together for the first time in quite a while.  Before summer was over, we wanted to do one last hurrah and headed to Acqualina Resort & Spa in Sunny Isles Florida. All the gals, Emily of Life With Emily, Shelby of Glitter and Gingham, Kristin of Living in Color Print and Cathy of Poor Little It Girl, all met up for a few days. It was a fun few relaxing days in the sun, spa treatments and lots and lots of good food. We were all watching the weather as a tropical wave (didn’t even know that was a thing) was heading in. Thankfully, we got really lucky with the weather and spent most of the time outside soaking in the sun.

On our first day, we all headed to the spa to get straight into relaxation mode. I got their ESPA mindful massage and for the first time ever, fell asleep in my massage. You know it’s good when you fall asleep right? After massages, we spent the rest of that first day eating pizza, drinking wine and watching the VMA’s. The weather wasn’t ideal, so we just relaxed and caught up over all the wine on the comfy couches in our suite.

Shelby of Glitter and Gingham took this pic during her sunrise workout (we all slept in….). Could that be any prettier? I totally would’ve got my butt out of bed for a workout for that.

The prettiest made up bed ever. Kristin and I snuggled up for the weekend. It was so convenient having a 2 bedroom suite for the 5 of us. Cathy took the little office that had a day bed in it. Truly the perfect hotel situation for our little group.

The view from our gorgeous room. We had a stunning and very large suite so that we could all be in the same room. We may have spent our first night on the couch, watching the VMA’s and eating pizza and drinking all the wine.

We headed to Corsair for brunch one day. It was an all you can eat brunch buffet and we were beyond stuffed. So many good things and so many mimosas. After lunch we headed to the pool to relax before some clouds rolled in. We were luck that Kristin of Living In Color Print is from the Miami area, she had tons of great restaurant recommendations while we were there.

Thanks to Lilly Pulitzer for outfitting us in some cute resort wear. It can’t be a resort vacation without a little Lilly Pulitzer right?

Sadly the last time I wore a bikini, I’m desperate to be by the pool ASAP. This cute Aerie suit has a fun racer back and I just love the red print. It also comes in this camo print.  If you haven’t tried their swimsuits yet, they’re so good. We spent one good whole day at the pool and it consisted of lots of coconut cocktails followed by a post pool nap (the best kind, right?).

On our last night, we headed to Il Mulino in Acqualina. This was one of the best and most fun meals we’ve ever had as a group. Our sommelier was amazing and got us all hooked on a new wine, Santa Margherita. We chatted for hours, basically shutting the place down. Which funny enough, seems to be the trend everywhere we go as a group. Just so much catching up to do and so little time! Before we got into the wine though, we all kicked the night off with one of their speciality cocktails. They were as delicious as they were pretty.

Huge thank you to Acqualina Resort & Spa for hosting us for the weekend.
