What Movie Can You Watch On Repeat?

jessica camerata shares her favorite movies while enjoying a bowl of popcorn

Fun fact about me, I’m not a big movie person. I rarely watch a movie at home. I very much prefer a long drawn out series over an hour and a half movie that’s over so quickly. Going to a theatre was something I maybe did two or three times a year. If that. And rarely because it was my idea. Although I have been known to see a movie solo. Sometimes you just really want to see the new release! But there are definitely movies that I’ve watched and loved over the years. Some, I even have watched multiple times.

My Most Favorite Movies To Watch On Repeat

Growing up my neighborhood group of friends and I watched The Birdcage more times than I care to count. And even now as an adult, I will watch it again and again. It’s one of the only movies I can quote. The other, which I think is just an American classic, is Home Alone. It’s simply the best damn holiday movie ever. I’m counting down the days until we can get into the holiday spirit to watch it. And I’ll almost always not change the channel if Titanic is on. Still shocked they only really knew each other for 24 hours.

I also think it’s interesting to hear how shocked people are when they learn I haven’t seen notable movies. For example, I never saw The Notebook until about 2 years ago. Unimpressed. I also only saw Forrest Gump as an adult and just don’t get the appeal. A few other classics that I’ve never seen, Gone With The Wind, Silence Of The Lambs and Bridget Jones’ Diary. Maybe I should add this to my quarantine to do list.

I feel like you’re either someone who watches movies and loves it and even rewatches them. Or you’re like me, and just don’t really care. But I’d love to know, which movies do you love to watch on repeat or are total classics that I should watch?

Oceans 11. I’ve watched it more times than I can count, and yet if I flip past it on tv I will stop and watch it.

The 2005 Pride & Prejudice – It’s my comfort movie and rewatches are much more convenient now that it’s on Netflix!

I love watching movies to relax and there are several rom-coms that I’ve watched more than once. Not movies that will make history, but that make me smile: How to lose a guy in 10 days, Friends with benefits, New Year’s Eve, Something borrowed. Something’s gotta give.

So many good movies! I love, love, love Bridget Jones’ Diary but I think the one movie (ok movies) that I can watch on repeat are the Princess Diaries movies. SO cute.

Same with The Birdcage. I quote it at least once a month. It makes me so happy. Also, Bridesmaids. It’s on constantly and I always end up watching it.

The Harry Potter series, hands down. I bought the entire volume from iTunes, so I could re-watch it over and over again! I usually find myself re-watching the series in the fall/winter season when it’s nice and cozy.

Can’t believe I’ve not only never seen the movies but never read the books either!

        What?! No way!!

If you’re talking about classic/nostalgic ones, I’d say the Cool Runnings has got to be one of those films I could watch a hundred times, and still laugh about the same ol’ scenes!

This is always such an interesting topic for me because movies are such a huge part of my life! Before COVID, we went to the movie theater pretty much every week. I could give you a ridiculous long list of movies, but just a few of mine are Singin’ in the Rain (my favorite movie of all-time), It’s Complicated (guilty pleasure) and Almost Famous.

Sad to admit I’ve never seen any of these movies, need to add to my list!

The Bridget Jones’ Diary book is better than the movie. A laugh a minute. Favorite movies: Moonstruck, You’ve Got Mail, and He’s Just Not That Into You. Best all time miniseries is the 1995 Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. Pretty much any of the Jane Austin’s from the 90s are amazing (yes I’m dating myself but they don’t disappoint)!
