Best Bras For Wrap Dresses & Tops

Last year I fell hard for all things that wrapped. Wrapped tops, wrap dresses, you name it, I was into it. Now that I started pulling out last years favorites (thank you small closet) I’m now re-falling back in love with this trend. A few favorites from last year included this Reformation dress and also today’s Abercrombie & Fitch wrap top. I styled this for fall last year with wide leg jeans. It’s perfectly paired with any high waisted jeans since it’s slightly cropped and paired with cork heels. A summertime essential.

Three Reasons Why I Love A Wrap Style

They’re Simple But Special

One of the things that I love about a wrap top is how simple they are but also feel special. I tend to love a great tee and have a hard time getting into blouses. I don’t do peasant tops, and I don’t do a ton of flowy blouses either. But a wrap top is simple and you can find them in so many prints and fabrics. They feel much more special than a tee but also don’t feel overly fussy.

They Flatter Your Waist

The instant waist cinching is one of my favorite things about a wrap top. By crisscrossing over your chest and cinching at your waist you instantly create a flattering silhouette for yourself. It makes you look thinner and more proportionate.

The V-Neck Elongates You

I personally prefer a v-neck as it elongates your torso and in my opinion, makes me feel less top heavy. V-necks are universally flattering and allow you to show off your favorite necklaces too. If you’re self-conscious about a low v-neck, just add a simple camisole underneath any of your v-necks (or a bandeau, like this one) to help cut it off at a more comfortable point.

What To Wear Under A Wrap Top Or Dress

I’ll be honest, the one thing I DISLIKE about a wrap top is the inability to wear most of my bras. I found this happen time and time again and would often just suck it up and constantly deal with keeping an eye on my bra. Or go braless with these breast petals. I did, however, recently discovered the most perfect plunge bralette from Lively. It comes in a few colors and is super low in the front that it works with ALL my wrap pieces in my closet. I just picked it up in a few new colors too. The size chart is spot on too, I am wearing a medium.
