There’s a longtime rule about wearing white before Memorial Day but I’m all about breaking this rule. For good reason. It’s 88 degrees in Atlanta and has been for a couple of weeks now. It is summer. Period. I finally got my hands on some great white wide leg jeans and am so excited for them. I saw Katie Lee of Pearls & Twirls wear them and knew I had to track down a pair for myself. These are under $100 from Lee. Yes, you heard that right. Picked them up from Shopbop. Such a great deal! I decided to go all white with the look and I’m loving it!
I did, however, add a touch of color with a fun bandana and blush bag. Adding a silky bandana is a great way to add some color and style to any simple look. I also kind of love it worn like a necklace. It’s layered nicely with my gold P necklace that I wear all the time. Here are a few other fun ways to style a bandana or even in your hair!
If you’re struggling on what to wear on your feet with wide leg jeans I also did a big post on that here. Great tips! I’m all about a chunky wedge, it’s my go to!
Three Tips To Buying & Wearing White Denim
Find Good Quality Denim
First, find good quality denim. It’ll be much more flattering and not see through. A total fail when you buy $30 white jeans if you ask me. It’s just not worth it. Quality denim will also usually be a little thicker weave making it more flattering and won’t show off any lumps or bumps. Hey, we ALL pretty much have a little cellulite, right? You don’t need white jeans showing it off more than it needs to. Plus, higher quality denim will be designed to not show these imperfections. So splurge when you’re buying white jeans, it’s worth it!
Choose Non-Skinny Jeans
And second, choose a non-skinny pair. White jeans aren’t always super flattering and can accentuate all the things you may not love about your body. Opting for a boyfriend fit, culotte or wide leg is a better option that you’ll feel much more comfortable in. This is why I’m kind of obsessed with these wide leg ones. They’re going to be super fun to wear and style for spring and summer.
And never forget about proper undergarments. Nude underwear is key! You may want to do the bend over test in the dressing room too to see if they’re super see through. I’m a full butt panty kind of gal so I like to make sure you at least don’t see the color of my underwear. But I’m here for the underwear lines because I could care less.
