This year has been without a doubt, totally ridiculous. I’ve never travelled so much in my life. And sadly, my parents have seen more of Pork than I think I have. As of right now, my next trip isn’t until the end of July which is actually a family vacation to the one and only, Sin City.  Until then, my life really does look like eat, sleep, blog, repeat. This is the longest I’ve been home since the beginning of the year, which will be a full 6 weeks. To say I’m going a little nuts is an understatement.

It’s the first time in 2017 that I’m really able to sit and blog non stop, focus on content and maybe make some changes. I mentioned in this post a couple weeks ago that I’ve been in a bit of a rut, feeling stuck and looked to you, the reader, for some inspiration. To see what you like, don’t like, want to see more of and so on. As it turns out, you all are looking for more personal posts. So here it is today. Personal.

I’m not sure if it was turning 30, or starting to see more friends have some big life changes from marriages to moving and promotions, but it’s been a tough one emotionally for me. Traveling doesn’t help either. As much as I absolutely love jetting off to anywhere and everywhere, a feeling of withdrawal is now very common when I return home. Almost as if I’m annoyed or anxious about dealing with reality and my same old routine.

On top of that, I’ve been feeling concerned about what the future of blogging looks like. I mean, do I want to be taking outfit photos in 10 years? Will there even be a blog world then? What would I even do otherwise and why the fuck am I still single at 30? All things that run through my head constantly lately. It’s easy to compare yourself even when you think you don’t. I like to think I’m pretty independent, confident and beat to my own drum; however, I think it’s easy with the social media world nowadays, to compare yourself without even realizing you’re doing it.

So as I have lots of time at home this month and next, it’s a lot of eat, sleep, blog and repeat. It’s made me focus on what on earth am I sharing with you and how it can be more meaningful or at least enjoyable with varying content. As much as I love clothing and fashion, how many more times can I say this outfit is so cute? I’d like to share more lifestyle posts, tips on getting dressed, feeling good and more. Plus getting personal. Which isn’t easy to do, so I’d love any recommendations on what you’d like to hear more of.

I have to admit, I like the more personal content. Great to get to know you more and what’s going on beyond the blog. I’m happy you’ll be home for a bit. I’m sure that will turn out to be a very good thing. I wish you were in Charlotte and you could meet some of my guy pals! You’re fab lady, keep up the amazing content, looks, and personal touches.

First of all, I feel like it should be a mandate that all bloggers own this tee. Can we make that happen? Let’s work on it. Anyways, I admire you for wanting to change things up a bit to get out of your rut! I feel like it’s always the hardest to recognize that feeling and then make a move to change/better it. Getting personal in the blog world is definitely scary, but I oddly always feel better when I hit publish on those personal posts. If you’re going through something, it’s likely that several others are, too so we all can relate and support one another.

Hah, ain’t that the truth — I will probably be over outfit photos in 5-10 years, so I’m curious to see what’s next! I can’t wait to see what you’ve got planned for new content for the blog, though — I’m sure I’m going to love it!

Thanks for being so honest. I love the outfit posts but I also love feeling like the bloggers I admire are real people too. I’m so guilty of comparing myself to everyone on Instagram but then I remind myself that everyone’s life is more complicated than what they post about in their stories.

I’m also glad you’ll be home so we can get more pup pictures 🙂

I know that Instagram is just a highlight reel, but it’s easy to compare no matter what! And yes, will work on more photos of Pork!

Girl. You are not alone! I am almost 40 and ask myself the same question all the time. what the hell are we all doing here!? Right? I mean, we worked our butts off to be independent and full time bloggers which is an awesome “career” but where is it all going? For now I am just focusing on the present and what an amazing opportunity it is to make money in such a cool way and inspire other women while doing it.

It’s always so refreshing to read posts like this – especially from bloggers like you! Scrolling through IG or other blog posts, I often get the feeling everyone has this thing figured out but me. And in reality, we all struggle with the same issues of comparing, worrying, wondering, etc… Who knows where this industry will be in 5-10 years, but I’m so thankful that we get to experience it now. And sometimes that’s all we can focus on in order to stay sane 🙂 Can’t wait to see more personal posts!
