Two weeks ago I headed to Hilton Head Island for my first visit ever there. They were having their big Wien + Food Festival and had invited Emily and me to come explore for a few days. Since I’ve never been and it’s only a short 4.5 hour drive (6 if you came with Lauren and I! So. Much. Traffic.) I figured I’d check it out and finally see what it’s all about. I grabbed Lauren as my co-pilot for the weekend and we had so much fun catching up with Emily and meeting her fiancé Nick. Here’s a little look at what we did for the weekend.

Wine and Food. Duh. We got to taste tons of great wines and champagnes over the weekend, but I think my favorite part was this amazing sandwich paired with a delicious rosé. It was super simple. Just a few slices of meat, and picked veggies. The bread was that kind of crunchy, scratches the roof of your mouth, kind of bread. Which is basically the best kind around. The weather was SO perfect this day. 65 and sunny with a slight breeze. In the sun, it was heaven.
We headed to Coast Oceanfront Dining for dinner one night and decided to get a little more dressed up. One of my favorite things about getting dressed up in a sleepy coastal town is that jeans are usually still totally fine! The meal was delicious. We ordered the giant seafood sampler full of crab legs, oysters and shrimp. I had the salmon and Emily ordered the crab cakes which they’re known for. They were delicious! I totally snagged a bite or two.

We stayed at Sonesta Hilton Head Island Hotel which was situated right on the beach. As soon as we arrived, we grabbed a cocktail and went for a stroll. I of course found all the dogs pictured below. There’s nothing that makes me happier than petting a dog. Period.
So. Much. Wine. We tried so many different varieties this weekend, it was a blast. I found a new favorite too, Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc. It’s delicious, and only about $20 a bottle. Sold!
