Atlanta Destination | Emory Point

I’m excited to kick off a new little series here on My Style Vita called Atlanta Destination! I’ve been wanting to bring some new content to the site that didn’t include more outfits. I thought I’d begin with a micro-series highlighting some great things to do in Atlanta when it comes to shopping destinations.  I’ll be bringing you some of the best shopping in the city with some of my go to insider tips. Kicking things off with one that’s a little off the beaten path, Emory Point.

Located in the heart of the Clifton Corridor near Emory University, this spot has a youthful vibe to it thanks to all the students that hang around. Filled with affordable shopping with stores like Lizard Thicket, Fab’rik, American Threads and my favorite lately, LOFT. They also have an adorable olive oil shop called Strippaggio with SO many different olive oil options and also unique salts. Makes for a great gift.

But one of my favorite things about Emory Point is that it’s home to The General Muir. This is one of my top 5 brunch spots in Atlanta. My favorite thing to order is the Avenue A (pictured at the end). It’s a unique twist on a classic bagel and lox. The grapefruit and avocado add a touch of zing and freshness to it that Grandma just never thought to add. If you’re into anything pickled like I am, order the pickle plate to share. It’s delicious! I love this place so much because it makes me feel like I’ve stepped into a Jewish bakery in New York. It feels like home, smells of fresh baked goods like babka and breads, and it’s covered in top to bottom white subway tile. Definitely a must visit if you’re ever in Atlanta.

Insider Tips

The General Muir gets busy for brunch, head in early or grab a seat at the bar.

Emory Point is always doing fun giveaways for their restaurants and stores on their Instagram, so be sure to follow along.

Pop-up Wednesday has JUST started so be sure to head over from 11-2 to for a market like experience with local vendors. Details on the schedule here.

Favorite Spots

My favorite hat is from a cute little boutique called American Threads. Their stuff is fun and trendy but super affordable.

Fab’rik always has the best jewelry. Great for gifts. Another go to for inexpensive accessories is Francesca’s. My sister always finds the best stuff here.

The perfect gift for Dad this Father’s Day (if he likes to cook) are olive oils and unique salts from Strippaggio. Or go classic with a great tie at Jos. A. Bank.

Don’t worry guys, there’s also a Jo

The General Muir – Breakfast, lunch or dinner, this place is truly exceptional. Grab their desserts for a house warming gift or party. My favorite are the black car cookies and they’re gluten free.

I love this post! I live in Savannah, GA and my husband and I frequently make weekend trips to Atlanta for good dining and shopping. We will have to check out The General Muir next time we are in town. I just started a lifestyle blog, and your blog is definitely an inspiration!

    Best,

How fun! I’ve always wanted to start a series on local gems where I live. I’m not that far from Atlanta, but oddly haven’t been there many times. Looking forward seeing more! 🙂

Hello! I absolutely love your blog! The overall vibe is so chic and engaging. I am moving to Atlanta this summer for work and have no idea about the neighborhoods and areas I should look into and which I should stay away from. Do you have any suggestions?

I look forward to hearing from you soon! 🙂
