I’ve been dying to do something different here on the blog. Sure I love outfit posts and shopping guides, but I want to give my local readers something different where they can come to My Style Vita as your Atlanta insider providing you with great local businesses, stores and brands to try. I’m calling this The Local Scoop and I’ll be giving you some of my insider looks at the places I love. I’m so excited to kick this off with a ridiculously cute salon and spa that I recently visited at Studioplex called Aviary.
I headed into Aviary and met with owner Amy for my first ever oxygen facial. I’ve had my fair share of microderms and extractions which I love, but this was something completely different. For someone like me who’s skin is insanely dehydrated, this was just the fix. I could give you the technical description of what went down in that room, but here’s the gist of it. The oxygen and serum work together to hydrate and plump the skin instantly. Amy started with the right side of my face and after she finished we compared it to the left. The difference was instantly noticeable. I looked like I just woke up from a 16 hour nap while on vacation after drinking water from the natural springs for days. It was clear this was working and doing something great to my skin. The results get better with a few days and last for up to 2 weeks. Celebrities like Madonna (hello my FAV) do this daily before concerts and red carpets since there is no down time and the results are instant. So yeah, for a day I like that I felt like a celeb.
Not only does Aviary offer these cool new facials that no one else in Atlanta is doing, but she also has a salon side as well. Everything she does is natural and organic. No ammonium or formaldehyde at this salon. I love that she’s conscious about this and wants to make sure she’s taking care of her clients and the earth.
*No compensation was given for this post. The new Local Scoop series is all about things I love and things I think you need to know about what’s trending in Atlanta.
